Looking forward to looking thru this thread. Fraid I am a "lesser mortal " as a Tak is not in ownership and never has been. SW and Stellarvue ATM. Always nice to look at kit of all types.

Thought crosses my mind here and there.

Sell the 3 scopes I have and go Tak. TSA 120 seems like a nice number??   LOL  Time will tell. One day maybe.

That seems feasible and you won’t regret it, a lot better than the kidney or two I would trade for a new TSA-120.

A little teaser from me until I can get access to my photos. Managed to water test my iPhone 11Pro. Incase you are wondering, they are not waterproof! Despite a week drying out it is still dead!

Anyway, I was going to post this elsewhere under the title ‘How low can you go’, might still do that. This made for easy viewing whilst sitting on the grass with the Sun down low. Very stable of course 😂.

Forgot to add... FC76DCU with Feathertouch FTF2025BCR Lightweight focuser. Gotta save that extra few grams you know 😜😂

@Stu great your scopes so low,
but have you managed to get back up from being down so low yourself yet? 🤣

You heard my back creaking from over there did you? 😱😂

Further to my post above regarding my FS128..

Here are a couple more photos..the first is the earliest photo of an FS128 I found some time ago..it features a 1994 scope mounted on an EM1 equatorial which is quite similar to the 1998 EM2s my FS128 came with (it's a 1999 model).

I just think the setup looks so "right", and so balanced (I know I'm biased!😂).

Next is the scope out under dusk with Orion over our house..

Finally, is the photo I use for my avatar on SGL, I just like the way the shadow hid half of the scope tube..

There seem to be a lot of people looking through their 'scopes.

I hate to admit it but I have never looked through mine 😉

I'm a looker :) but that is a very impressive rig (pun intended Captain) you have :)

I visited your web site and your pictures are just as impressive as your rig!

Western highlands and Islands ... one of my very favorite places on earth. Very jealous!

I must say, I do like the look of these TSA-120s 👍

Yes, they are lovely looking scopes..not too heavy either, at 6.9kg (my FS128 is 7.5kg). A little nose heavy being a triplet, but not difficult to balance the tube. I just wish they'd made it a 128 or 130mm, then it would have been a wonderful like for like replacement for the FS128.

The TOA130 does hit the aperture target, but is a good deal heavier at 10.5kg, and I suppose when you add a finder, 2" diagonal, binoviewers and eyepieces, that could easily lift it up to 12 or 13kg, needing a very substantial mount. Very expensive, too..

Beautiful scopes though..

Doesn’t the as-near-invisible triplet lens on the TOA suck the microwaves out of that oven, Mark?

🤣
