IAS 2019 - Who is attending and when?

Recommended Posts

So ticket purchase is open for the IAS.
Who is going and when?

I am attending on the Saturday and going to the Paul Monet and Patrick Gilliland talks.
If you see me say hello.

Sorry Francis, I am confused.......
what is such a thing as a 'tight leash' when it comes to your 'flexible friend'? 🤣

Well it means I'm to be kept under control at all times, don't look through anything, don't pick anything up with a price tag, don't talk to sales men(and ladies). I'm allowed coffee and a cake though...

That's all good then, just make sure it does not come with a 'Free' mount, scope, filter set or whatever!

I'm less keen to go this year because it's in November. Previous years it's been earlier in the year as I recall.  Easier travelling.

Went to last years on the Friday, think I'll be going this year too, but Saturday this time.  Not going for the lectures, purely window shopping!

Have just bought myself a new mount, so won't be tempted!

🤣 I have heard that line before, just before something new and shiney tempts the wallet!

I hope to be there on the Saturday. Last year I didn't intend to buy anything and luckily I came away with my wallet intact. This year I've got a few things I'm interested in and anything could happen!

Okay, your post has prompted me to look at the website.  I've now booked for general entry + the talks by Patrick Gilliland and by Prof Hilary Downes.

I think I might go on the Saturday, but even leaving at 8 o/c (And getting away on time always proves impossible for me. *something* always delays) I won't make Patrick's lecture given the 3 1/2 hour journey (Realistically 4 hours with breaks), so may just go for general entry.
