Hey everyone,

 

my name is Mike, I'm 26 years old and I wanted to buy a telescope since I was in school.

A few months ago I finally purchased my very first telescope (Skywatcher 150/750 newtonian, eq3-2) and I wanted to be more active in this awesome community.

Here are my very first captures I made this year

 

 

 

 

I'm looking forward to whatever is next and I hope to learn from more experienced people in this forum.

Welcome to SGL.  Wow those are amazingly good images from an EQ2-3.  I wonder what you could produce from an HEQ5?

Thank you Carole, thank you davhei. Maybe one day I will stock up my equipment. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford anything better at the moment.

These pictures were taken from my backyard, so I'm also interested in how much the quality will improve once I go out in a less light polluted area.

John: For the orion nebula I took around 100 pictures and for the whirlpool galaxy around 200 pictures (30 second exposure each) and I used pixinsight for stacking and processing.

Not sure about the moon image anymore, but I used registax for stacking and processing.

Pixinsight seems to be number one choice for processing

I am just north of Stuttgart, so it is nice to know there are others from Germany here!  I enjoyed your image of the moon.  I recently bought a nice moon filter for my scope, so I will see how my images compare to yours.  I like the spiral galaxy also, that is a wonderful image.  Best,
