What did the postman bring?

One more Morpheus (17.5mm) to keep the 12.5mm company. It fills a little gap between Ethooissessess (or whatever the plural of Ethos is), and give me some lighter weight options too.

This little beauty arrived by 9am this morning, having been sent yesterday! Super quick delivery, thank you Ciarán! 👍

That completes my three Tak/FT combos, FS60C, FC76DC and FC100DC. I’ll do a family picture sometime soon.

I have the Lunar Atlas Mark, excellent images and very good for confirming that you really can see what you think you can see...

Our postman delivered a well packaged print of one of my astro-images. Mrs H very kindly had my photo of Orion over St Michaels Church printed on aluminium for me. Not only that but she also allowed me to hang it in our 'front-room' which is confusingly located at the back of our house! It is the first time that I have had one of my photos printed on aluminium and I was most impressed with the quality of print and the heavily discounted price.  For proof that I made the front-room see below. My Zero showed up late yesterday afternoon.  I put on two spare shorty slo-mo cables, but I think I'd prefer knobs.  May I ask where you ordered yours?  ADM has knobs, but they're $30 US per pair and I suspect I can get something similar for less.  Thanks!

Oh, BTW, the mount is performing quite well so far.  There was a little sticking in az slo-mo, but that seems to have worked out already.  Maybe it was just the lube needing to smear around a bit?

Good news, hope it stays smooth. I bought two cheap and cheerful, supposedly push-fit knobs from Telescope Service here in Germany, however I would not recommend that purchase as they don't actually fit. The ADM ones look great, but I balked at the 60 USD shipping same as you. Looking into options so I'll keep you posted, but thinking about perhaps some kind of knurled aluminium stereo system knobs which should fit as most have the 6mm diameter hole.

In the short term I might use two knobs from my Skytee-2 as it has 4, two on each side.

I have the 'Stargazing for Beginners' and it is a surprisingly good book! Very helpful when I first started hobby, and remains useful today... Well, when the clouds permit of course!

More parts arriving for my upcoming PI dedicated PC build. 32 GB of RAM came yesterday with another 32GB in the post, a total of 64GB RAM @3600MHz should certainly see an increase in performance compared to my old build with 16GB. We're still having unbelievably bad weather up here in the Lakes with the very rare clear nights since December either been too windy or the early 4am starts for work  which I do alternately are typically falling the morning after any clear night 🙄

Its these inactive nights that get my brain thinking of projects to fill my time with whilst not imaging & this has resulted in the new PC build. I recently came across a YouTube video all about a small very niche hobby which I didn't  know even existed, never mind actually been a 'thing' & thats custom build mechanical keyboards, these keyboards can cost well over 3k (Yes you read that correctly £3K 😱)...... i've been sucked in 😂 My first board arrived yesterday, its at the cheaper end of this market so I could see what the fuss is about & I have to say that typing on it is a surprisingly nice experience. I've ordered custom keycaps, buying them is a minefield as each brand has a certain weight, sound etc (Sad I know 🤣) so i'll be spending the weekend stripping the board down, sound proofing it & lubing the switches....Don't ask 🤣 Anyway, its keeping my brain busy.

Hey Steve, that looks like a nice build! What are you doing for cables, are you going to make your own custom USB or does it take USB-C? The first lockdown got me into all sorts of weird and wonderful things, including small form factor mechanical keyboards. In the end, I took the modest approach and settled on an Anne Pro 2 with Cherry MX silver switches as the cost of building my own started to mount up lol!

Those Oklop bags are great. I use a larger version to hold my refractor, camera and the rest of the gadgets for imaging. Great quality and definitely don't feel like they've been made on the cheap!

Yeah definitely - I would've got one for the Mak 127 but not in stock yet 🤷
