Looks identical to the Stella Lyra eyepieces that FLO sell

That's right, from the Long Perng factory in Taiwan. My SL 20mm 80° is one of my favourite EPs so I"m sure Mike will love it when the skies eventually clear.🙄

All I ask for is a clear Friday or Saturday night

This turned up yesterday- a lovely wooden box with another interesting scope inside. A Tal 200k :)

Quick tweak of the primary collimation screws on a star test and some thick grease on the focuser and it seems to be rather good. Need a taller mount for it though…

How about an Orion 20 LHD Lanthanum 80 degree eyepeice.  Long Eye Relief and fully multicoated.  Have to comment about the packaging.  Never seen a tube for an eyepeice before, it's a interesting idea.  The top of the eyepiece screws completely off so I suppose this is a good thing for glasses wearers.  If weight equals quality I would say this one is a winner because it definitely has some heft to it.  Unfortunately what also came with it....clouds....lots and lots of clouds.

Looks like a twistpack or similar.  You often see them used for mag drive cutters and similar.  They are very satisfying to play with lol.

Never thought of using them for eyepieces.

Someone mentioned it being called a bolt case, which makes sense as it looks like a bolt.

Postperson has been twice this week and only just got to open things and post here as its been a tad busy in our lives…… understatement of the month!!
A TV O3 Bandmate form @Franklin in the Classified, thanks.
And the retrun of a Pentax XW 5mm, stupidly sold to make things lighter... just a 7mm need now to return harmony to my EP case for now.

I have no idea why I made the swap out Jeremy, a moment of madness, but some calm returns now.

I learned of the existence of this book on SGL recently

Excellent "at the eyepiece" lunar atlas, I've had mine since the 80's. Rukl's lunar map is the same as the one in the hard to find, larger, more expensive lunar atlas.

I wondered who got that one, I was watching but couldn't justify the spend. Enjoy 🙂

I think the price was pretty good for what it is Dave and the mirrors are immaculate- after the small collimation tweak it looks very sharp indeed. I needed a working scope that would fit in my small car and haven't got the Newise tamed yet- struggling a bit actually, and this fits the bill. Should be better than the Newise on the planets anyhow. It's a very interesting design- pretty hefty though

After various discussions and research, TS-Optics 2" diagonal which allows maximum clear aperture for 2" EPs - and its smaller sibling for 1.25".

I would have loved a Baader clicklock but struggled to justify the additional 270+ eur. The saving allowed me to get the 1.25" version and still be 170 eur better off 😱

Ok not the Postie Pete, but Palletline instead, new arrival for the pad

Pictures etc on Observing Pad thread will follow soon …

A1200mm tall galvanised steel pier from Greg at White Star in Cornwall, nice guy and makes a good range of piers.
He is on ebay and online, small business, big products.

I must note, that huge shake up the Oak post looks terrible in that picture.

the Shake will be ok at least its going "with the grain " ... more trouble if the shake was horizontal  :)

Very chuffed indeed to receive this “clock” from my lovely Mrs for my Birthday. 😁

(Legitimate post as it came via post lady!)

I was originally going to get a Star Adventurer GTI, but with uncertainty in release date and price made me keep an eye out for something else...

As fate would have it a GEM28 popped up on eBay and now it's in my home 😃.

Absolutely delighted.  Got plenty of time to figure things out as I slowly build a wide angle imaging rig.

Bought a Horizon 60mm ED scope and accompanying FF.  I did look and consider the WO range but the sticking point was weight I am afraid to say. Sometimes every gram counts.

Anyway, looks great, feels well built & solid.

I got this because as mentioned the low weight, also the overall spec is very impressive and finally it balances perfectly on the AZGTi.

Pushed the button on a Asterion Pro upgrade for my EQ5 from FLO!.

I have to say it’s quality made.. there’s a new revision with the control/computer. WiFi now built in with an on off switch and USB port for PC/Laptop. Fitting was a breeze.. with control from my IPhone.

very smooth being belt driven
