One of two EPs ordered ( second one arriving tomorrow) .. an 8-24 SVbony zoom !  A really nice weight to it . And it feels premium .. we will see how it performs , hopefully tonight ( very late) when or if the cloud clears .

I hope you get an opportunity to review the eyepiece. I've heard good thing about svbony eyepieces.  Look forward to seeing what the other eyepiece is.

50mm AT RACI finder on clearance.  It comes without an EP and I'm going to try it as a small RFT, although it's been said it will need an extension tube to come to focus without the EP hanging halfway out.  That's ok though - I feel like experimenting with something and I'm finding that I'm just not that much of a bino fan.

Back in the UK for a bit so time to stock up on small bits and bobs from FLO.

An astro essentials EQ6-R Pro ⅜" tripod adaptor, a super short baader eyepiece holder, 2x dessicant caps and the smaller ADM saddle for the AZ-GTi (with the new style cover plate).

Picked this up today from a nice chap. Needs an upgraded focuser for imaging obviously and a bit of tlc but mirror nice and clean. Something to fettle with now and again. Will have a go at some 1m imaging in the darker months. I can no honestly say, hand on heart, my scope collection is complete and I'll not need to buy another one 😄

That was quick! APM 24mm 68° UFF to replace my MaxVision 24mm 68° SWA.

Ordered yesterday from Widescreen Centre and arrived today, very well packed in no-frills packaging. Whilst the fancy packaging of the ultra premium EPs is very nice, ultimately I'll take a premium EP in less fancy packaging if it knocks a few quid off.

Much easier to set up and shift around. And I think viewing will be better, although I'll still need a stool of some sort. And the other (better?) half is a lot happier that I won't do myself an injury. 🙄

No power as yet, so I won't be setting up properly until after the Bank Holiday. (Unless the powertank I have a lead on turns up) But the weather's looking typical for holidays and new toys!

These are great eyepieces Joe. I had one for a while last Summer. Let us know how you get on.

The performance provided by this EP is  a bit or a bargain.
I have two for BV usage, I prefer the eye relief over the TV alternative.

Didn’t fancy the 8” dob then? Have never used a Mak, should be belting on planets, lunar and doubles. Look forward to your reports.

I was a bit put out the third inner box of the 76DC didn’t come in lovely big blue box. 😔

I find it a bit disappointing that Tak scopes don’t come in giant versions of those blue boxes. If they did I might be tempted to order some more.

Thank god that 100DC in the classifieds was snapped up! Had me looking into my credit reports.
