Does everyone set the scopes up on grass  or is there a hard standing or something ? I think mine would sink in unless it's on concrete. Just not sure how these events work .

Ken, to be sure take some small flat pieces of plywood / MDF or even stone to put underneath you tripod feet, they will distribute the weight and stop any sinking.

You could just bring some squares of plywood to put under the legs of your tripod?

I'm going whatever the weather always glean new information and meet new people even if you don't see anything, I have gained loads of knowledge at other meets without which I would not be enjoying this hobby as much.
