Thanks for accepting me into your group. I have been playing with a £40 Jessops telescope for the past year and have been pleasantly surprised and amazed at what I saw (clearly easily pleased). This has been enough to spark my interest, so am placing my order, tomorrow, for a Skywatcher Skyliner 200p Dobsonian from FLO. I am fortunate enough to spend part of the year in deepest, darkest France, so have access to some stunningly bright starscapes and pretty much zero light pollution. My choice of telescope and supplier were made as a result of reading this forum, so I look forward to continuing to learn from you all in the future.

Thanks

Roy

Welcome to SGL Roy - sure you won't regret taking the plunge!

I think that Skyliner is definitely going to deliver in comparison to the Jessops and sure you will be getting plenty of Wow under both UK and French skies.

Enjoy both and look forward to hearing your first light impressions as soon as the skies clear.

Hi, Roy, and a warm welcome to SGL! Your post shows the real value of a dark sky site where even the cheapest of scopes can reveal something of the night sky - but if you were impessed by that the 200 Dob will be a real journey of exploration! Enjoy the ride!!!
