  1. Vixen rate the mount at 8 kg but that is the maximum.
  2. For the AZ4 mount there is a 3/8” stainless steel tripod which does not have the locating pin. If you don’t intend to use it with an EQ Mount then you could cut it off.
  3. Not sure if it applies to the Pronto but I have the AZ5 Mount on a 3/8” stainless steel tripod and that increases the payload from 5kg to 9kg.
  4. Do you need to update the firmware for any particular reason ? The reason I ask is sometimes it is best left alone if it is working satisfactory as updating may cause problems.
  5. My first scope was a 200p Dob and I still have it and would not part with it. I built a platform trolley for mine which enables me to wheel it out ready to go in 2 minutes. A water butt base is also a useful addition to raise the hight of the scope.
  6. I may have been unlucky to have had a faulty handle as I only used it once to move the OTA but since then I bought a pair of Rolson carry handles which fit around the OTA which makes it MUCH more manageable IMO. I never thought of reporting it to Skywatcher as I have never seen it recommended to use the handles to carry the scope, also it is no longer under warranty.
  7. This is the reason I don’t use the handles to lift my OTA πŸ™
  8. Because to remove the OTA from the base then you have to remove the handles. Also the handles don’t look that strong to me.
  9. I shall refrain from saying what I think of these ******** as I do not want to be banned from SGL 🀬
  10. You could try ultra sonic pest repellent plug ins. Earlier last year I was really fed up with the amount of cobwebs in the garage as they seemed to reappear as quickly as you got rid of them. I bought a pack of 6 and put 2 in the garage and the rest in different places in the house and to my surprise they actually work. We rarely see any spiders (or webs) and they are supposed to deter most insects and even mice. If I recall the pack of 6 was about Β£10 - 12 so it would not cost a lot to give them a try.
  11. Hi and welcome to SGL Peter.
  12. Never heard of them, like you said, if it sounds too good then it will be a scam. Not worth the risk.
  13. I wouldn't even lift my 8" dob with the side handles.
  14. For added security I use zip ties to ensure if the sticky pads fail the Telrad wont hit the floor.

    Hello!

    Hi Sean, welcome to SGL.
  16. I have bought a few things from them without any problems, you just have to wait for 2/3 weeks in my experience.
  17. It will sort itself out, NOBODY wants to stop trading with ANYBODY.
