  1. Just wanted to show an update without creating a new topic. Today was a 'Houston, we have a problem' situation....mounting equipment, screws, good ideas that later turned out to be less good, giving stuff a place, moving dovetail endless times, continuously rough balancing and at the end connect the cables. Two dew haters via little control box directly to Celestron 17Ah PowerTank...the rest of the equipment is working on an internal battery. Maybe changing: ew heater of lens maybe reposition to the smaller part of the tube instead of on the lens hood and move the finder scope closer to the turning point. Unfortunately I could not place two counterweights against the top of the bar. It was just to heavy. So now just one further away. To do: cable management. Three USB cables going to my laptop. Hope the little unpowered hub will working with USB from the iPolar camera and for my wireless mouse dongle.
  2. Yes...the C8 is great...but now the wide fields are the goal. The itch is already lesser...with the right medicine. 😉 I like this little one too....very mobile and easy to overview things. Tomorrow I get two dew heaters with a control box and a Celestron PowerTank 17Ah delivered. I will give the control box a place on the dovetail and the PowerTank on a tripod leg and then I can balance things roughly and do the 'final' cable management. No..not in my neighborhood. I want to tell more but then my blood pressure rise. 😉 Thanks Waddensky. Dank je wel. Waar het nog rustig is! Thank you Nicolàs. Your equipment looks like the parents of my small set up.
  3. Did we have played marples in the past? 🙂
  4. Thank you Michael and banjaxed!
  5. Hello all, I'm Peter from the Netherlands. Nice to meet you! I've been interested in astronomy for a long time and have owned a HEQ5 Synscan Pro with a Celestron C8. Did some planetary imaging with a ZWO ASI120MC and Televue Powermate 2.5x. I sold that years ago but it is starting to itch again so I bought an iOptron SkyGuider Pro with iPolar and I am now putting it together as well as creating and testing a workflow and the use of software. My goal is making wide fields with a Canon EOS R (not modified) and a Canon RF70-200mm F2.8 My balcony on the 4th floor faces south and the North Star is not visible to me. Because of this I am forced to stand on a dark country road through the meadows. Who does not honor small things, is not worthy of great things.
