  1. Ah, come on. We all know the reason you cant see it is they used the warehouse where the landing was photographed for that scene in "The raiders of the lost ark"! All the Apollo stuff got tossed out! 😎😎😉😉😁 Just kidding!
  2. This is just so amazing! This is why I like this forum so much. You give an old mind the chance to learn new things! So if I'm on the right path with my thinking, photographic paper is just a type of film. Do you put it all together in a dark room, then cover the pinhole till you have the can placed? Does the paper require developing like regular film? And my last question. Are they getting the Sun from rise to set because of the latitude? Here in Fla. it would be difficult to get both being the Sun rises very high, close to 50°. Did a quick google on the paper and got that info. The idea of getting the sun rise and set still has me scratching my head.
  3. Excellent sir! Absolutely excellent!
  4. Oh that is so true! Looking at that image on your computer screen of something out there that just seeing has left you speechless is addictive! Only thing I will tell you is good luck and have fun!
  5. I have watched it. Though I found it, interesting, like with all series like this quite a bit was sensationalized to keep you watching. Mr. Tyson, just like Mr. Sagan and I can all have our own thoughts on the infinite universe. Going to be a long time before either of us is proven totally correct, or incorrect. 👍
  6. I went three blocks to my childhood home to haul off a large branch that fell. At my viewing area in the driveway, I see the light in the neighbors barn is one of the sensor controlled ones that will be on all night!😖😞😞 Looks like I'll be looking for another spot to view rocket launches! Like Gomez Addams asked "HAS THE PLANET GONE MAD!!"
  7. Mine is pretty simple and straight forward. An EQ6 or something similar!
  8. Went to my spot in the driveway, hoping. Turned out the clouds blocked me from seeing anything, but I did watch the live feed. One thing I did see though was the neighbors house in line with where I aim the camera had a very bright light on in their barn. That and the fire station behind me made it hard to even try and let my eyes adapt. And yes, like others have said, the idea I can watch a launch live on my phone is so amazing! Makes me think of the old first television my dad bought. Round screen, we were only getting one or two channels that mostly showed snow! How things have changed in my life!!
  9. Last few nights have been perfect. This evening at 8:09ET they have a ULA heavy putting a spy satellite up. Now we have clouds rolling in! I wanted to watch that heavy go off. This is the one that's been scrubbed over and over and over again.
  10. I have a desire to go to the dark side, but dont have the equipment. All I can say is in my eyes, that's a very nice image.
  11. This was last night. Caught a jet going close by and a satellite off to the upper left edge.
  12. Thanks! That's more like the a angle I'm seeing. Still not together in my 23mm eyepiece with my 8" dob. I'm watching every evening, worried how they are getting so close to the sky glow of the evening twilight.
  13. I also noticed a couple sputters in the engine flame on ascent, then it appeared one engine shut down, but that shutdown could have been planned.
  14. That was incredible. I know it didnt land, but think how many rockets blew up in the late 50's and early 60's just to finally get one in orbit. Like him or not, Musk does have some great ideas!
  15. Any idea where this is showing from? In Fla Saturn is up at an angle to the left.
  16. The cloudy skies are starting to get to all of you!!😉
  17. I've not seen one of the trains yet. I guess that their orbit and me being in Fla near the launch point it just hasn't worked out so the pass overhead.
  18. Excellent! Orion is a beautiful constellation!
  19. Yes, you turned it towards two of the most amazing things is our solar system! Dont forget the Moon, as it goes through its phases, the terminator gives you something different every night.
  20. Very nice image! And yes, as much as the members who lean to the dark side hate them, the clouds with the Moon always adds to its beauty!
  21. I wish I could say he'd do it, but being realistic I have to say there's not much chance on man in four years.
  22. Very impressive. I wonder if it was out over the Pacific and if that final flareup had any explosive force? Straight down, it not close to it, over a large metropolitan area could be the formula for a terrible disaster with a big enough bang!
  23. With us having CAVU I got out my filters to see if the spots were still there. Nothing compared to your images, but like always I'm happy with it. How do they number the spots?
