    Just took a peek with my dob. Just where SOHO shows it, more easily seen with my eyes than getting it on my Canon SL1. Did manage to get it faint, so another one of the records.

    It has taken me two years to get my neighbor, a fire station, two shield two of their three led's. The one the left is the worst and reflects off the building as well. I'm glad to hear you had good luck!

    Wow, reading this really makes me cringe! One day this week we had 4°C and I thought it was bad! Yesterday was out working in the garden plot in short sleeves!

    I hope to witness it as well, but I'm 65. I also worry that if it's not accomplished by private ventures, it will be a decade or more.

    This evening Jupiter was visible in the glow of the evening sky, but Mercury and Saturn were below the trees on my horizon. I'll try again tomorrow.

    Amazing image! I was also viewing Luna at about this same exact time, the only difference being our time zones are different. I had high thin clouds to the North, but for almost an hour visibility was excellent! I was cool with our temps in the high 40's, but nothing like you!

    Wonderful reading how excited you are enjoying your venture into astronomy! At times it can be maddening, only to be so rewarding when everything falls into place!

    I watch every program I can find about our exploration of the solar system. I am just amazed at the dedication the scientists and engineers have with these missions. With everything they have discovered, I can't believe there is still so many who look at it as a waste of money.

    Finally get a goto mount, EQ5 or EQ6 size. And try to image the Moon every day even if it's only widefield. So far I'm got that one going. Also do more Solar.

    Just a single image. ISO 3200 and 10 sec exp with my Canon 18mm.

    I have an app that shows the moons positions. This looks to be quite amazing, but I dont think with Jupiters position there will be much good viewing. I hope to give it a go.

    Welcome. I understand that idea of falling asleep outside under the night sky. Back when I was a kid and camping the skies were a lot darker!

    Excellent image. The Moon this morning was definitely beautiful. I got out for a half hour or so for a quick view.
