  1. Excellent! Its amazing watching the motion like that. Every time I view Jupiter I cant help but think of a planet that big having a 10 hour rotation period. Not to mention those moons !
  2. The price in Florida has tripled in the past 6 months. Everybody has to get onto the covid bus and make more money!
  3. You forgot to add humbled! She never ceases to amaze me with her talents!👍
  4. Not bad for bad seeing. I enjoy watching the angle of the rings change over time. Couple more years and they will be so close to edge on they seem to disappear!
  5. I'm still in a decent location where I live, but the future looks bad. There is a migration of northerners moving to Florida that it cant get better.
  6. I'm always impressed seeing Jupiters moons as more than a bright speck of light!
  7. Oh how I would enjoy sitting back quietly, watching you perform your magic! That is amazing!
  8. That is easy to figure out. NASA takes money. Musk pays money!
  9. Not the greatest of images. This is a single image prime focus about 30 minutes before the moon set.
  10. I'm sitting here watching the faint shadow slowly work down across the Lunar surface. It was quite cloudy earlier but now incredibly clear. I will probably get to see a short period of the total eclipse before it sets. Our temperature is just perfect that I've got dew on the finder scope and I believe the camera. What images i manage to get will not be the greatest.
  11. Welcome to the SGL. You have found a wonderful group of people!
  12. I just can't see SWMBO agreeing to a bathroom remodel! Now my mind is going wild. I better stop before I get into trouble.
  13. Congratulations! Now, seek therapy quickly before the addiction takes hold! In no time you'll be out in cold weather taking images of the planets and things you cant see with your own eyes! You've just joined a crazy group of people!😁
  14. After being married for 41 years, my advice is smile, nod your head and say "yes dear!" Then keep on doing what makes you happy! But then I do occasionally sleep in the observatory!🤔
  15. I got out for just a few minutes. Did not want to let this spot go around the edge without seeing it. It is very windy so viewing wasnt the best, still when it calmed the spot definitely stood out! Took a few images, but haven't downloaded them yet. What are we looking at, another couple years before we hit the peak of this active period?
  16. Mostly observing but some imaging. I wont fool myself that I could put forth the effort so many here do. Unless I hit the lotto, this will probably be my only mount. Over here the EQ6 R pro goes for $1595
  17. Okay, right now I'm being patient. I know it's way out of stock, so it will be a wait, but that's okay. I'm waiting for last years tax paper work to go through. I know an EQ6 pro will be over kill for my 8" reflector but this will most likely be my only mount so I'd rather go a bit over. Tell me the pros and cons. Oh yeah, I might be patient, but really I can't wait to push that order item button!
  18. If that is your first attempt all I can say is well done!
  19. I'm pretty sure the crew dragon might still be attached to the ISS. That could be why they listed it as passing over. With the madness in the Gulf with the first one returning, I'm sure I would have remembered it coming back!
  20. Yes, very nice images! I really like the way the light can hit the mountain tops just right so they look snow covered!
  21. Seeing it the first time was incredible, but, every time I get a good clear look it's still incredible. It has so much to enjoy and with the changing light, you find new marvels to behold every time.
  22. Great images! I witnessed it once a year or so ago. Mars was just a tiny speck but when it winked of of sight it was amazing!
  23. All I can say is well done! Totally amazing work! Me, I'm still doing single images with a push pull DOB, so I really dont care there are lists that show when and where. If you can work out something 30km across at almost a billion miles, I think Galileo would smile!
  24. Nice images! Oh the power of Mother Sol.
