  1. Are you sure you're not on a hot pixel, if you slew the mount on low speed it will move if it's a star, if it's a hot pixel it will stay in the same place. If that's ok alter the step size. Dave
  2. Working now, looking good. Dave
  3. Good job Rob, can feel the heat coming off the screen 😄 Dave
  4. Clouds last night but looking better tonight ATM if there's any left 😄 Dave
  5. Others use the 807 squished further to the right. HeIps with the seeing and I think it cuts down on the glare from highlighted regions but may be just my perception. I use the 10"SCT and ZWO ASI178MM gives some horrendous oversampled arc"/pixel rate but I'm happy with it. Dave Sample image, 50th anniversary Apollo 11 landing site but didn't get much processing.
  6. Some on ENS Optical site depends on the thread you need. Dave
  7. Personally I use this one for Lunar Dave
  8. Used a pillar drill with it held in vice, 1.5 drill first I think, then 2mm and cleaned thread with 3mm tap. Replaced both screws with 3mm bolts as pic' Dave
  9. You might be able to restore it with one of these or something similar Dave Metric Thread Restoration Repair File Cleans Damaged Threads 0.75 - 3mm Pitch 5056133300109 | eBay
  10. Excellent Den, I've been up to my eyes in stuff here and missed out on all these sunny days. Dave
  11. Hi and welcome to SGL. Just looks out of focus, does your camera have mirror lock facility. Dave
  12. Nice one Tony, may have a go at it later when it reaches it's highest spot out of the murk. Dave
  13. With my SCT I'm often swopping cameras including the Atik 314L and eyepieces so spend a while refocussing. First check that the camera is actually working by taking 1 second exposures in with and without the scope covered, the image should change from dark to light, as Olly said this can be counter intuitive as too much light will turn the screen black. Have the mount tracking then without the camera, and filter wheel if used fitted, find a bright star, Sirius or Jupiter if about is really good, even the Moon, and slew to get it in the view up the scope and align the finder with it. I have to use this method for finding Mars which is a nightmare to find. Replace the camera set it looping on quick one second exposures with L filter if using filters, wind focuser right in and you should get some indication of an image hopefully an out of focus donut, if you don't reach focus when right out it needs spacing, if using a compression ring fitting you can get a rough Idea by just sliding the camera out of the fitting to see where it focusses. Have you got a separate guide scope fitted ? if so you can set that looping as with wider FOV it's easier to find stuff, most galaxy cores will show up on guide scope and on Artemis capture screen with looping 5/10 second exposures. Dave
  14. Nice one Bob, I've been trying to image C/2021 A1 (Leonard) lurking up around Ursa Major but decidedly dim. Dave
  15. I remember drooling over the Genesis in ad's but never had anywhere near enough money to afford one, the 31mm Nagler OTH I've had pretty much since they first appeared and despite having the 21mm Ethos the Nag' is going nowhere. Dave
  16. Looks pretty much like mine Luke, you were spoilt with the technical advances of the 428, a quick blast of hot pixel remover in whatever processing software you use and they'll all disappear like magic 😄 For even more sensor real estate look out for a second hand Atik 4000, similar snowstorm of hot pixels. Dave
  17. "Not heard of Nik" hope he doesn't read this 😂 I probably read his technique for sorting stars in one of his articles but haven't got time to trawl through years of ANs. Dave
  18. If it's only a few stars you can sort them manually in Photoshop using a custom cloning brush as recommended by Nik Szymanek IIRC, haven't used it for a while so can't remember the exact process. Dave
  19. That's an ASIAIR Pro preview so should be in colour, here's one, out of focus indoors should be in colour. Dave
  20. It hadn't had much use then it started intermittently taking green images. Flo quickly sent replacement Dave
  21. Nice one Adam, been trolling round the galaxy clusters with the ZWO ASI2600MC in wide field using the Optolong LeNhance filter then camera died, got replacement from Flo but now got sidetracked using SCT 😄 Dave
