  1. Hoping to see it shortly once it drags itself clear of the LP. Dave
  2. Very nice Gav, spent all day tarting up the old camper van so no time for solar, who knows might even get to go to star parties in it again one day. Dave
  3. Run mine independent of home network using iPad, there is the option to connect the mount to the ASIAIR Pro wirelessly to do away with another cable but haven't tried it yet. Dave
  4. I don't think the reflected sunlight is strong enough to damage eyesight it will however leave an impression upon the retina for a while. Dave
  5. I have had mine running below 1.0", not tried multi-star guiding yet. Are you connecting to the mount via WiFi ? something else I haven't got around to trying. Dave
  6. Nice set David, I think I'll have to travel to see the eclipse, bit small from my corner of the UK. Dave
  7. Set up ready in clear skies to catch it but clouded over as soon as it got dark, maybe tomorrow. Dave
  8. Thanks Charl, that was my first and last shot at them. Dave
  9. Another lot just gone up from Russia. Dave
  10. Hope so as I haven't even managed to see it yet as it's been lurking in light pollution from here since first discovered, just about getting high enough to see. Dave
  11. Shh, it'll hear you 😂 Dave
  12. Decent seeing today through the holes in the cloud so managed some vid's without the .5x f/r. Forgot to take flats Dave Tecnosky152, Quark, PGBFly.
  13. Nicely done Charl, bit of Sun at last but lots of cloud here. Dave
  14. Looking good Stu, managed a few vid's between the clouds, is that a dust bunny ? just reminded me I forgot to take any flats 😂 Dave
  15. Set up here hoping for a hole in the clouds, at least it's stopped raining. Dave
  16. Hope to have a look sometime today but Sun is in short supply here ATM. Dave
  17. Good catch, well done, cloud and rain here. Dave
  18. Mine cost about £30.00 in materials and I made the prototype with just a pillar drill, solid as a rock once adjusted and locked and no movement caused by locking, the overly complicated commercial ones have loads of unnecessary adjustment, if care is taken with the setup there is very little adjustment needed. Dave
  19. Good catch Den, missed this earlier, haven't even had a look at AR2824 yet due to crap weather. Dave
  20. One thing that worried me Mark when imaging on dewy nights was the vulnerability of the connections on the top face of the mount, even more so in alt / az mode, the on off switch appears to have nothing to stop water running into it, a simple rubber hood is all that's needed so don't know why they don't fit one as you can buy toggle switches with them on, the ST4 socket likewise, I put the blanking plug out of a ZWO camera in mine again a simple thing they could do in the factory. Dave
  21. Sun appeared this afternoon but by the time I set up it started spitting with rain. Dave
  22. Good catch Charl, reports on Space Weather of AR2824 flaring and bathing us in UV radiation. Dave
