M51 with C11

Dont do many images with the C11 due to the accuracy needed with the tracking and focus but was quite happy with the image of M51 from Monday night.

Consists of 12 * 200S Luminance and RGB per channel.

This one is my favorite Galaxy for imaging and have often viewed it optically. Imaging it at this resolution is challenging for me and definatly needs guiding for a reasonable result.

Used a Atik 4000 Mono and a WO 0.8 Reducer / Flattner (designed for my refractor but seemed to work OK).

Gave good resolution and minimal Vignetting although the image is cropped slightly

Agree and had this in mind, was surprised to see little evidence in the red channel of the origional.

Hope to get some usable imaging time over the weekend

Quite surprised when I had a peek at the forum tonight and really appreciate all of the positive feedback on this one. Makes it all the more worthwhile suffering from lack of sleep earlier in the week:)!

Hopefully will get some more Galaxy images with the C11 before the evenings get too light.
