That is seriously wow!

How are you finding the Kepler 4040? I've heard it said that it's actually made up of four sub-sensors stuck together, and with variable characteristics between each.

Yes the Kepler has four quadrants and on the face of it looks noisy, but actually is super clean when correctly calibrated ...... it cant be used in the same way a regular Cmos ....Its just too sensitive, 180s ha similar S/N ratio as 900s with the 16803. so 15mins stacked180s subs just demolishes the noise floor, its astonishing.....The L500mount is good for unguided for nearly 10mins at 3meters FL but with the Kepler there is no way you will ever need it.....a real dream machine IMO

Oh WOW! this is a beautiful image of the eagle, detail galore!

I was very pleased with the amount of detail in the core. I used some deconvolution and sharpening in Pixinsight.

Beautiful. This was unguided, you say?

What kind of mount achieves this?

N.F.

Yes easily, The L500 from Planewave its a direct drive mount with around 0.02 arc/sec tracking.....its a wonderful mount. Polar alignment was very simple despite its size. The whole kit weighs nearly 200KG

Very detailed Peter, a real triumph. What filters are you using - 65mm square?

Thank you....They are all Asrtrodon LRGB, Ha,OIII,SII, and NII all 3nm 50x50 square

Presumably you operating the L500 with a wedge rather than in Alt/Az mode?

Yes it has the optional wedge, although I was a bit worried when fitting it, all that weight leaning over at 38 degrees does not look natural....
