FLO is Hiring

Recommended Posts

This role is a little different 🙂

We are looking for a Production Operative to work at our premises in Exeter.

It is a full-time, six month contract that will likely lead to a permanent position.

If interested and local to Exeter please apply via our job ad at Indeed.

Production Operative at First Light Optics

FLO is an equal opportunities employer.

Looking at the skills you are wanting, I think production operative is understating the role.
My take on 'production operative' is someone on a line, repetitively putting the meat in a sandwich or a lid on a box, etc.
You are asking for a technician with multi disciplinary skills.

It shows that FLO are not just a box shifter. But a company looking to handle repairs, modifications and special parts.
This should stand you ahead of many other astro retailers.

Good luck with the search, David.

Having repaired a handful of motorboards I would love to apply, but the 8 hr 450 mile daily commute would make that impractical  :)

Good luck with the search, it seems a great opportunity for someone

Nice, I have all the skills but am too far away and retired but a great opportunity for someone, I also think my IPC 610/620 might have lapsed along with all the other stuff from working in aerospace..

Best of luck filling that post Steve. I'm sure there must be someone in the Exeter population
tailor made for that role.  Of course it's another indication of how well Flo.
has progressed over the years, and another addition to the fine and efficient  staff you already  have down there
will further enhance your reputation.
Here's to a successful appointment. 👍
Ron.

We already have two of those 🙂

The job will mostly involve assembly and QC of a number of different products.

Think I’ll sit this one out and wait till a job in the Takahashi handling dept comes up.

What about something like a telescope handle specialist? Would suit you and @johninderby perfectly:thumbright: After all you've become quite good at handling.... many professional telescope-carrying solutions.
