If I properly understand, is the Bino Bandit a double eyecup with heaters? Could you please share some details about that with me (us)?

Hi,

No, the Bino Bandit is just the shield, link here:

https://www.firstlightoptics.com/all-binoculars/alpine-innovations-bino-bandit.html

The shield is very effective I must say, cuts out almost all stray light, really good little bit of kit.

I added two USB dew strips which I bought from Amazon here:

USB Fast-warm 2in1 XL Spliceable Astronomical Telescopes DSLR Camera Lens Active Anti Fog Dew Heater Shield Strap, Warmer Bands Strip for Canon Nikon Sony Gskyer Celestron(Max 6 inch/180mm Diameter) https://amzn.eu/d/2X3kCmp

They seem to work well and are very convenient. I also got this one for the scope which includes a simple controller, again USB powered.

Lens Dew Heater Fog Remover Strip... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08LGRVF9C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I run both from a Celestron Powertank Pro, but any decent USB power pack should do.

The guns are out tonight. First light with my new D2 filter. 3 hours shooting ic1396 with the d2, l-ultimate and rgb with the redcat and asi2600, and 3 hours with my 80ed shooting the trunk with an l-ultimate for extra detail.

At 10 the plan is to move to rosette for first time this season, and first time with 2600s..and try similar thing.

Sorry for two posts in a row - in my defence they were different nights 😁 - big guns out here for Mars the god of war. Lost the refractor to icing/dew about two hours after this pic so no doubt it will be festooned with dew heaters and cables next time 😒

Hi,

David and Goliath that means the TAIR-3-PhS on top of my Opus Magnum mount before the California Nebula hunt. It will be its first light and check of a field curvature, as it works with a full-frame camera. It's fastest scope I have: 300mm F/4.5.

If you put your ear to it, you may actually hear your mount laughing about the loads you put on it. 😂

Out last night with the 8”SCT again as I am just waiting for the dew shield for the 12” dobsonian. This was whilst awaiting darkness to fall. These Celestron dew rings fitted to the corrector plate sure work really well. Dew band also needed for my eyepieces as it was freezing out🥶

Exactly. The difference is that I am in the North West, they are somewhere on the opposite side.

Aww don't take it personally, when telescope nerds get frustrated due to weeks of clouds we don't go to pubs and start brawls (hard to observe with a black eye) we make fun of each others gear. 🤣
