Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

With your support FLO is enjoying her best year EVER so we are moving into larger premises. We will still be based in Exeter but will have nearly 4x more floor space enabling us to hold more stock and add more brands…

An additional 10% off clearance products

To help clear stock ahead of our move (so many boxes!) we are offering an additional 10% discount off these clearance products.

Thats a pity, I can't see any Opticron Imagic TGA WP 10x50s in there?  I've  had a good  deal before with my Helios Nature Sport 8x40s. Im still looking at filling my 10x50 slot, just needing a good price to tempt me! (PM if you like, I'll keep it a secret?)

Thank-you for the kind words

Wow I can remember you moving to a bigger place not so long ago.

FLO was launched from my home in 2006. In 2010 we moved out of home and into a unit at Basepoint Business Centre, my wife was delighted! We later moved into a larger unit, still at the Basepoint Business Centre, then added the unit next door. We had planned to use the second unit for a showroom but the company grew so we needed it for stock. We have grown some more so have been contemplating a third unit but have found a unit only a short distance away that is nearly four times larger than both our current units combined. We think having one large unit will suit us better than several small ones.

Please advise when the showroom is open as I visit Devon once a year and I'll call in with my trusty "plastic"

Oh we will

It won't be for a while. Moving into a new business premises is like moving into a new home, it is best to wait a few weeks before making changes. We also want to upgrade our inventory system before the busy winter season is upon us.

Great news and well done, it is always nice to hear businesses getting bigger but try not to lose that personally touch you have.

We won't, I promise

FLO is probably the UK's largest specialist astro retailer but astronomy is a small market so, compared to retailers in most other markets, we are still a small company. The photography and fishing markets are particularly large, as are some of the retailers serving them. Wex, for example, is much much larger than FLO.

Very nice place, first item to be moved is the coffee machine?

Oh yes, without a doubt  :coffee2:

We don't work that way but we do regularly add open-box, ex-demo and customer return items to our Clearance Section and we usually post details here at SGL

HTH,

Steve

Another 'congratulations, well desrved' from me to add to your collection.

My first FLO purchase was, I think 2008 and since then every purchase has gone well.

But why did you put the extra 10% discount on the clearance items?

I watched some clearance Helios binos over the weekend with conflicting priorities rattling around my head.

Mortgage - sky views - car MOT- food - sky views - worn out shoes - sky....

Nobody at SGL helped me out by buying them before me.

Eventually I couldn't stand it any more and hit they 'buy' button.

If I have cycle to work barefoot and eat out of date food, it will all be the fault of SGL & FLO!

One of those new members of staff looks a little on the young side, Steve.

I hope he's getting at least minimum wage?

I hope it's all going well and look forward to seeing these new product ranges appearing on the website

My eldest son was earning some extra pocket money

In the photo Lisa is explaining how Explore Scientific eyepieces are arranged on the shelves and the lady in the background, looking rather studious, is Alex'.

The move went very well indeed, we were able to hand back the keys to our old premises two days early and began dispatching orders from our new premises yesterday  B)

That's interesting Mark, were you at unit 6 or 8?

Can you remember please how they heated the warehouse in winter?

You`ll be running around so fast with new orders, you wont need heating?

It does remind me of our works unit......Its very cold in Winter. There is no heating? but then they tell us the unit is not for resting in, just for collecting the keys for our vehicles, but to us its a home from home, but a cold one!

What about thermal clothing for Astronomers.......Could there be a market for that ?
