No ISS - am I allowed to weep?

I took today off work as Calsky said I had an ISS transit which was near enough dead centre and would pass right between AR12381, what are the chances of that! Also the weatherman said last night the whole country would be under clear blue skies.

OK so the day dawned and of course Cheshire was the only place in the entire country of England that was under cloud. I sat from 8am until 9:45 before I saw the Sun. Then it went super clear, aligned, focused, wow! super clear seeing too. I could see a cloud on the horizon and I just knew in my heart that it would time itself perfectly in 30 minutes time.

Bang on cue at 1 minute to go it blocked the Sun, the seconds ticked and 10:14 and 3 seconds came and went. I almost wept, I put my head in my hands and really wanted to burst into tears. I guess you blokes never do that I suppose. I got myself together and took a photo of the hateful thing instead. The Sun then came out 5 minutes later and stayed out for the next hour, so I got some PST images, WL hiRes and got the Quark out. I really am doomed but I do have some nice pics I suppose which I should be thankful for. I still want to scream though  :angry4:  :angry4:  :angry9:

So WL

absolutely gutted for you. And you are right...I didn't cry when the venus transit was clouded out, Or when I had to leave Oz 2 days before the total eclipse in north qld. Nor did I cry when my two week holiday in sunny France yeilded 1 clear night (the first).....Well I didn't cry much anyway ;)

OH MAN what a depressingly familiar story! what is wrong the weather has it got something against astronomers? On the "bright side" at least you have a good selection of images before and after, that cloud photo will make yuo smile in months to come!
