Hi everyone,

Im Mick,

Just registered so a quick hello from me.

I mentioned to my wife recently that I'd like to get into astronomy so my wife bought me a telescope :)

Its a Celestron Astromaster LT 76AZ, is this a decent beginner telescope? I have no idea how to use it properly yet lol!

Cant wait for some clear nights now!

Hi Mick and welcome, Sorry I can't help you with that particular scope but celestron make equiptment of a pretty good quality so thats a good sign.

Maybe if you put a post in beginners equiptment section you might get more replies?

Just a tip but have you ever thought of mentioning to your wife that you happen to like aston martin?...it's gotta be worth a shot ;)

Hi Mick welcome to the lounge,

good luck with the new scope, all scopes are good, you

just have to learn how to use them to there capability, best

to start with the Moon, practice focusing with the eyepieces

that came with the scope, being a big object you will find it

easier and it's very bright.
