Hello everyone,

I've been into astronomy for decades but I've only been actively observing for four years (before that it was all reading and watching documentaries). I'm not specializing in any particular type of object, though Jupiter holds a special place in my heart for strictly sentimental reasons. I'm all visual so far, no AP at all. I believe myself to have a decent grasp of astronomy in general but I'm certainly no expert in anything within the field. Living in a light polluted city I tend to go for quantity over quality (observing often with whatever is handy, rather than organised trips to ideal dark sites). I'm a notorious "balcony-observer" since I happen to have a very suitable balcony with a view of almost the entire northern half of the sky. I'm also a member of the local astronomy club (providing me with opportunities for dark sites and big glass at times).

Oh and I am actually named "Steve" (i.e. not Steven or Stephen) it's a long story, my grandmother is to blame.

Steve
