I've been looking hard at that one - it's a relatively short drive from me.

The design looks similar to the David Lukehurst lightweight dobs though I don't think this one is by him. I guess it all hinges on the quality of the optics as most of the price will be buying those.

It actually looks a fairly practical 20" scope.

Maybe the seller will allow me to take a peek at it

Lordy even these monster-dobs look so (relatively) simple in construction/ design: DIY has to be the way to go. I hope whoever lands this godzillascope will share it with (responsible) kids on occasions and not burrow themselves away on their tod.

You are right - it's 19.5 inches according to the sellers description

i'm telling myself that its not practical compared to a 16"..and i only have x-amount to throw at it..unless i sold my 12" in the next week?....i hate telescopes

A lot more practical than a budget 16" if you ask me. Certainly more portable/transportable than either the Flextube or lightbridge 16" scopes.

if you can afford it I would go for it.

You could treat that primary to a nice fresh HiLux coating when funds allowed at a later date aswell....

Hope someone on SGL goes for it as it.
