Hi

Im new to this forum and i am a bit nervous about posting as I have never joined a forum before.

I have been interested in Astronomy since I can remember. I lived in the countryside most of my life as a child and just remember the amazing night sky free from light pollution. BUT.....I didn't like being outside in the dark so didn't really take advantage. (Still don't like it much now)

I have been using binoculars for year but got my first scope last year (Skywatcher 114mm 500m). I have seen some great things and will never forget my first view of Saturn and Jupiter.

I hope to become a regular in this forum and hope I will be able to get loads of advice and hint and tips in the future.

Fiona

Hi Fiona

Welcome to the SGL

Don't worry we don't bite.......much.:(

If you don't like being out in the dark, why not join your local asto society. That way at least you'll be observing with some other lunatics standing out in the middle of nowhere in the dark.:(

Hi Fiona and a very warm welcome to sgl. I've only been on here around a month but have found it to be a really friendly and helpful place where you'll learn SO much. Just don't be afraid to ask anything, anything at all. There will always be plenty of people happy to offer advice and opinions :(

Hello Fiona and welcome to SGL. As others have said this is a very friendly & helpful forum. Never be afraid to ask questions on here. That's what the beginners section is all about. It will be a great help to you as it has been to me. Great to have you on board.
