Hi all, Just started taking Astronomy seriously in the last couple of months since my wife, desperate to engage me in a suitable hobby, subscribed me to the local astronomy society bless her. Best birthday pesent ever!!

Have an old TAL 1M telescope with motorised mount (but no motor :() which is my new restoration project.

Ultimate ambition would be to marry it up to my Olympus E500 DSLR and see if I cant make a start in Lunar/planetary imaging.

Over ambitious ??? maybe but any hints would be helpful.

Welcome to SGL.

Webcams and similar high frame rate devices are really where it's at for planetary imaging, but don't let that put you off trying. And don't forget there's solar imaging too.
