  1. A fine set of mages, great reward for the early alarm call
  2. those conditions sounded pretty poor, so that is a fine end result.
  3. Still some very nice detail visible, despite the conditions.
  4. Very nice Neil, good to see a couple of Moons on view as well.
  5. Another capture from the 17th, this later image is 7 x 3 minute images de-rotated and combined in WinJupos. Captured with my C9.25, asi224mc, 25000 frames and stacked 20% for each 3 minute video.
  6. Just looked on GONG and they are still going strong. Good to see plenty of activity, especially the return of lots of Filaments.
  7. Very, VERY good Neil, lovely detail and colours on both planets. The Saturn is especially good considering the very low altitude still from the UK.
  8. As DV said, i would try it on a star much highie rin the sky before you adjust anything.
  9. Yes i do, my window for Saturn is still quite small due to local obstructions. So i didnt get time to use it. I use to do mostly RGB images a few years back, but i seem to have lost the habit of it and the OSC is so much quicker.
  10. Jupiter always looks somehow complete with the GRS visible.
  11. As Geoff said the Mak180 has a huge focal length, 2700mm if I remember correctly. It's a very fine planetary imaging scope, don't think you find many people guiding and capturing DSO's though. The Asi224mc is an excellent planetary imaging camera choice, probably quite well suited to the scope. Adding a Barlow is probably going to be a little to much, but I would try anyway if you have one.
  12. Very nicely captured, I think the problem with WinJupos is familiarity. My first planetary images for ages as well.
  13. I think you will find most imagers capture videos and then stack them, often referred to as "lucky imaging". A term I rather dislike to be honest, as there is nothing lucky about it. It refers to the process of capturing 1000s of video frames and stacking the ones that are lucky enough avoid the atmospheric disturbance. I usually use either a Asi224mc for one shot colour images, or a Asi290mm for monochrome and RGB Images. Software is Firecapture for the capturing and Autostakkert for stacking.
