+1 for the Lunt as well, been using in on my evostar 120mm its been fine. It has not got particularly hot even longish sessions. I do fancy one of those Ceramic cool versions though 🙂 and the solar continuum filter is a must, of course only in my opinion.

Captured on 29th December 2016, Uranus + moons, L to R Umbriel, Ariel, Miranda, Oberon and hint of the Uranus's Polar region. Involved a huge number of frames and around 45 minutes imaging run.

I didnt see the back reference, both of them are quite heavy. I am ok with the C9.25 at the moment, but in 10 years time though who knows? It is something that i think about more and more even at 54 yrs.

Certainly will, I do when I get home from work.

Been thinking about getting a Asi174mm, for most of this year, cant rush these decision 🙂 Would be used mostly for Solar imaging, the Moon and ISS.

I love it, just showed to the boss, simple answer NO!

I had a Mak180 for quite a few years, then moved to my current scope a SCT C9.25. Slightly bigger aperture (180mm v 235mm), slghtly smaller Focal length (2700mm v 2350mm). I just felt it was little bit more of an "all rounder" option. The collimation on the Mak was rock solid, the SCT is pretty good as well. Both required a decent crayford focuser due to the mirror slop when focus at high focal lengths with a camera.

I am hoping to sttart doing some during Teabreaks/dinnertimes at work, now the activity is increasing.

I noticed it was going to get a little highier later this year, still not as high as we like but any help is welcome.

I have also booked it off, should be an interesting event. Fingers crossed for some clearish skies please.
