  1. Fantastic news I presently subscribe to some online scope time renting service at the moment due to the inclement weather here in the UK. I would be very interested in seeing this project up and working ASAP, even if the acquired image data is made public. Its all fun stuff....and some scientific too, makes it even more interesting.
  2. Very nice image Adam. Whats the issue with Lum to RGB?
  3. I have a small dehumidifier running and a green house heater to keep the ROR Shed dry. I'm not too sure about Domes but my ROR Shed has plenty of fresh air circulating. Since I took my C11 from standing in the garden to inside a permanent ror shed I have not had condensation/moisture issues. If your C14 has Fastar, try removing the secondary mirror and removing the eyepiece from the other end. Use a cool hairdryer to blow air through the C14 to help remove the moisture! I have used this trick on my C11 a few times in the past and it works fine the rest of the night
  4. Welcome to the Forum Dave. The Bins may need collimating. Adjusting a screw near the prism. Maybe mention it in another thread and I'm sure plenty will explain how to set the Bins up so you see straight
  5. I agree with Carole. See my avatar. I left my scope out for 18 months. Covered with a BBQ cover and tied underneath. I did however, remove the covers, even when not in use, just to air it off now and then. Never had issues really. I did remove the front mirror a couple of times to speed up the drying process after a very damp, wet, week. But never caused any lasting damage. The scope is now in a ROR Shed, same place as in the Avatar..I just built the obsy there instead Don't leave cameras out all the time though. They will succumb to the elements very quickly.
  6. Thanks don41. Thats what I am trying to get and improve on
  7. I aim to image M1 a few more times over the coming months as an ongoing project. Its a bright nebula and easy to image. I'd like to get as detailed a picture as possible. I do have more data. This data is from Monday night. I used the new WeightedBatchPreprocessing Script in PixInsight to process. I can't see much difference when I used the old BatchPreprocessing script but I find I do actually prefer this image over the other made the old way. Thanks PixInsight Anyhow, here is Monday nights M1 processed the new way. Thanks for looking. 12 x 600s Lights Master Darks/Bias/Flats Atik 4120EX OSC, OAG on C11@2800mm. Mesu 200. PixInsight. SGPro.
  8. Than you Rodd for your kind words. Yes, my aim is to show detail. Space is not so black
  9. I enjoyed that minute That halo around the moon brought last night back to me. Last night I gave up when I saw that halo lol. I liked the way I could see the cloud/mist passing by. What frame rate where you recording at ? Thanks for sharing.
  10. I had a line in a column for some time. Then a slight knock by accident cleared it lol. Darks do change over time....But not often. 300 seconds Darks 16 March, 14 April and 17 Nov 2019.
  11. Thanks tooth_dr Thanks too James. As I said, it was just there. Looked very clear and bright. No tracking to worry about at 0.05s lol. And it was interesting to use Autostakkert again. Long time since I used that free program.
  12. It was bright. So I put the Ha filter to dim it a little. 43 subs x 0.05s using ZWO 183mm Pro with 3nm Ha. on TS65Q scope. Processed using Autostakkert 2.6.8 and PixInsight. Thanks for looking
  13. I took this last week. Imaged over 7 hours but only used about 2.5 hours of subs due to clouds and cables. 28 x 300 lights 30 x Darks, Flats 100 Bias Atik 4120EX OSC, C11 @ 2800. Mesu 200. SGPro, PixInsight I think lots more time is needed to get a decent image. Thanks for looking
  14. Having used my ZWO 183mm pro for some time now, I can categorically say the camera does NOT have frost issues.
  15. I have an account with iTelescope. The images I take using their equipment are my images by law. I have taken test shots to get a feel for the camera/scope. I chose the rig I wish to use. I buy time on that rig. Images taken at that time with that rig are placed in a folder for me to download when I wish, within reasonable time frame of a few months. The images are supplied raw or calibrated. I think iTelescope and other such organisations are a great thing to have available to the public. I still have my own setup at home ( see my sig ) I just don't have the skies. iTelescope is not cheap. A typical image costs me around £70 using my preferred process. Compare that to buying your own gear and setting up, storing, repairing should anything go wrong. and having good weather! There is not much in it really. If I add all the images I have in my library. That I have taken, processed and printed off or shown to family and friends ( not counting the fun/rubbish/attempts I post online ) Just the really worthwhile stuff. When all said and done...Remote imaging/renting is good value in my eyes
  16. Hope we get as clear skies at 2016. Here's some shots of the Mercury transit then that I took with my C11 on a NEQ6.
  17. I have both TeamViewer and Anydesk on my remote ( garden shed ) laptop. For times such as this when one fails...does the other fail too? if yes, it's probably a PC Down/Off issue. If no, it's probably TeamViewer playing up again Hope you find an easy solution.
  18. OOOOHHH Drool 😛 Looks gorgeous. Would love to have one of those 🤞 I'm very envious. Looking forward to seeing more photos. Also some images that beast can take
  19. Very nice. whipdry I have been imaging this myself the last few nights. Not had chance to process yet. If mine looks half as good as this, I will be happy
  20. This is why I use Anydesk....Sit in my safer House living room while, in the shed, the mount slews merrily away with no one to bump into
  21. This made me laugh When I had the electricians working in my ROR Shed, I saw one guy hit his head a couple of times on the weight bar weights!! OUCH!! 😮 They were set horizontal as the roof was shut (raining). They should have asked for danger money lol. ( Or wore protective helmets ) A friend of mine, when visiting my 10' x 8' shed, asked...Why so big? - Answer -So I can move without hurting myself 😛 ...... I will show him this thread when he visits next as good reasons
  22. Looking on with interest as one of my cameras could do with a little moisture reduction. Not a problem at the moment but could move that way in the next few months.
  23. https://ascom-standards.org You will probably need ASCOM drivers to connect the scope to CdC.
  24. Just skimmed the above posts in case any spoilers...Missed it cos imaging at present. Will get it on the iPlayer Looking forward to it.
