  1. I am hoping to get my Pi to work as a cloud camera with my spare CCD. I'm waiting for the 0.5mm spacer to arrive to focus the wide lens. I use Remote Desktop to talk from my PC in the living room to my i3 laptop controlling my rig in the garden. I have found Remote Desktop works even if my internet is down. As it was a couple of weeks ago. If I could have a Pi controlling the rig instead of the i3, it would be one less thing to worry about
  2. Hi Gina, what spacer is needed for focus? I ask because I have a couple of old camera's that I no longer use, NexImage 5 and a Opticstar 131C. Both cameras work with this lens if I hold the lens above the CCD. I am not sure what the spacing is...maybe 3mm upwards to 7mm. Just wondered if you could eliminate the guesswork ? The lens will screw into either cam but will not focus. Therefore I assume I need a C-Male to C-Female extender!
  3. Thanks for the kind words festoon. No, just direct to camera the ATIK 4120EX colour camera. No filters at all. I did process in PixInsight.

  6. Thanks for this thread. I too have been thinking of getting into NB. And what filter size I need. I have Hyperstar and the adaptor takes a 2" filter. 2" can cost a lot more than 1.25" and was thinking, when imaging the standard way I will have to have 1.25" Having read this thread, I have decided that 2", although more expensive, is the way for someone such as myself who is starting out in NB to go. I will not be happy with 1.25" filters, knowing some issues would not occur if I had purchased 2" filters instead.
  7. I have a couple of old RPi's that I have not used for some time. It would be very interesting to use them to control my NEQ6 and cameras. All the folks I know who use only Linux would probably know how to install the OS onto the Pi without any issues anyway. I would be happy to just follow how you did it Gina.
  8. Congratulations Harry and Steve on your deliveries. Harry, the Mesu looks minute compared to the beast!! WOW!! I too, am expecting delivery in March of a Mesu Mount 200. I will be watching this thread with interest.
  9. This is my first attempt at DSO with Hyperstar and C11. No setup. Stuck the Hyperstar on the C11 and began taking pictures lol. Begining of August 2015. M51, Single shot exposure of around 15 seconds, ISO3200, Cannon 50D unmodded, heavily cropped....When the darker nights come, I hope to learn more about DS imaging I dont have a clue what I am doing but I enjoy it
