  1. What results are you getting? And what results are you expecting to get?
  2. A very good starting point. It would have come out alot better if the moon was out the way
  3. That's come out very well. Probably one of your best
  4. I'd say probably. I still need to use one with my qhy183c and 200p
  5. After a recent sale I have some money burning a small hole in my pocket and I'm torn between 2 decisions. First a little background. I currently image with an flt98, 0.8x Reducer, QHY183M camera and astrodon lrgb, 3nm Ha and 5nm O111 filters. I already own a qhy183c camera aswell that's not really getting used since I bought the mono camera. All this is mounted on my neq6. Do I go for a second scope so I can image in rgb and luminance at the same time? Or do I complete my set of astrodon filters with the 5nm S11? I have a dual mounting bar and skywatcher guide scope mount, so aligning the 2 scopes eont be too difficult, especially if the 2nd scope is a lightweight triplet. I'm considering the orion cf 80 that's in the classifieds, although slightly out of budget. But almost £400 for a new S11 filter isn't easily done. What do you guys think?
  6. Can you post the unstretched, stacked image please?
  7. I'd just stretch a plain white t-shirt over the lens and point at a clear sky
  8. There still seems to be a slight darker area at the bottom of your image. If you crop it further does it disappear? Also if you hold down the alt button whilst performing levels, it shows what part of the image it is affecting
  9. I hope you don't mind that i had a slight play.
  10. Over these past couple weeks I've tried to find not so common targets and these seem to be very rarely imaged, so i thought I'd show them some love. 53 x 300 second Luminance and 50 x 120 RGB
  11. If you're only using 1 dark frame then it's going to do more damage than good to your images. Also try dithering, that should help smooth out your background noise and mottle
  12. Beautiful and not over done. I like it
  13. I recently imaged this too but I'm finding it really difficult to process. You've done a great job.
  14. Well done for capturing such a difficult target. I've tried this myself before using 30 minute exposures and got basically nothing.
  15. I'd be very happy with that as my first go. I fact my first attempt was more like I'd tried to take a photo of the crescent moon with my phone, fully zoomed in. Well done
  16. They're dust bunnies. Decent flats should take care of them.
  17. Are you sure it filtered out data? I only ask as the moon being so bright and close will of had a massive, negative impact on your images. I'd suggest waiting until the moon is out of the way and try again.
  18. I can only hazard a guess that this will cause severely distorted stars.
  19. I just recieved an astrodon 5nn O111 filter. All I need now is the S11 and I'll have a complete set.
  20. I suspect it may be cause by tilt. The stars on the left are alot worse than your stars on the right.
  21. I never worry about that as I align all 3 channels in Photoshop afterwards
  22. I've always put in a bigger field of view and once it's taken an image it should work out the exact field of view and enter it automatically
