Hi,

I've been interested in the night sky ever since I can remember, but I've never thought of buying a telescope until recently. With my naked eye, a pair of Bino's and a cool free app for my phone, every clear night i've been outside gazing upwards, learning constellations, where nebula's and other galaxies are, not to mention some planets.

After a few months of soul searching, forum reading and some advice from a friend, I've decided to go for my first telescope which is to be a Skywatcher Skyline 150p (6") reflector on a Dob mount. As I'm not the richest person on the planet :) I believe this is a good "Mirror" for my money and a good starting point for my new hobby.

I haven't purchased it yet, if anybody has any other options i'm all ears.

Thanks for reading

Scott :)

Hey guys thanks for replying and for your feedback, I'm certain I'm making the right choice, just can't wait to order it and to start viewing now :). @sharpiejas I cant seem to find one for less than £180, and that's inclusive of VAT and free shipping for UK Residents, Im definitely going to get it, if I do find one cheaper b4 the weekend I'll let you know m8.

@brantuk thank you, maybe after I get used to observing through a scope, I might invest in an EQ mount and do some Astrophotography, but because I'm a complete novice I agree with you that a dob for observing will suit me just fine, and it will get me learning the skies :)
