Oh, no, I'm a Tak owner!

I wanted a 1.25" quality diagonal with a twist lock fitting, mainly to save some weight over my otherwise excellent WO 2" one. The only one I could find was a Takahashi prism diagonal, so here it is.

IMG_20231019_104714.thumb.jpg.5986f41bb0817790fa16f0092a4dcbc2.jpg

Slight difference in size and weight! (WO: 430g, Tak 132g).

It makes sense as 10 out of 12 of my EPs are 1.25".

Snap. The 1.25" prism is also my only piece of Tak, and likely will remain so.

Fedex brought me a second hand car seat! Yes it's for astronomy, a major component of my current project, a trailer-based binochair for my very own Large Binocular Telescope. I possess all the optics for 6" f/5 binoscope  but I'm working on the easy bits first, I have the trailer and the alt az drives are coming along nicely, so some metal work next for the alt az frame in which it will all sit. What would we do without ebay.

You let your other half open your boxes 😳 😱

LOL normally no! We've had issues with this courier, where a box recently had been opened and the contents removed, and delivered to the house.  I just got her to check it was all ok inside :D

Well wear with VC200L. Had the older one years ago, and have this one in an online shopping cart for a while now....and in case anyone mentions it, the need for the evaporation refiguring of the primary back in Japan is more or less moot, it wont need recoating till your too old to run your rig :).

Lovely scope, and surprisingly lightweight, enjoy.

Thank you. Too good a deal at 20% then another 20% on top to not go ahead with it.

Oh and I hope this guarantee holds as the next named storm hit the UK very shortly after the courier dropped it off!

Ummm, yeah... That was on my last FLO order.  Note the "Eventually..." at the bottom of the sticker.

A Tele Vue Radian 3mm.

It is SH, only the non-essential cardboard box is missing.

It was sky tested last night by myself and my observation pal Armand, who brought it.

What an amazing eyepiece !

It provide 400x on my SW Classic 250P. It split some subarc double stars right after arrival: Lambda Cyg, STT 410, STF2, Bu 720, 16 Vul.

Zeta Her and Delta Cyg were also very nice and wide split.

M13 and M15 were split in stars all across.

Happy man here !

Okay, this isn't astronomy related, but I got a miter fence, partially so I can build a equatorial platform.

I already have concerns...

Seriously though, a Dutch lad Dennis on Hooked on Wood on YouTube rates it quite highly and honestly, despite the Dodgy external, it is very solidly built.

Which famous wordsmith wrote "Dull is the man who can spell a word but one way"?

The concept of correct spelling only originates with the arrival of the dictionary. Fight the power!

Completing the BBHS Holy Trinity, an anniversary present. Obviously it’ll allow me to use my fracs for convenient daytime use, and will be very interesting to see how it performs at night.

It appears there’s a Kryptonite crystal in there, no wonder it’s good!

A while ago after waiting 2 years for my Explore Scientific 24mm 82 degree  eyepiece to turn up I swore my EP collection was now complete.

Well  today this turned up, I think I need to sign up for EA, (that’s Eyepiece Anonymous !) I need help.

I suspect there are many other potential members out there😂

StellaLyra 30mm Ultra Flat Field 2" Eyepiece😁

I know the 3rd anniversary is glass. Though the S in BBHS is, of course, silver (25th). It’s always possible there’s actually a BBHS anniversary that isn’t commonly known 😉

Whatever the number, Happy Anniversary, Magnus!

DPD dropped off an ASI585MC camera for my new journey into EAA and some planetary captures. Just another couple of bits to acquire before I can get started in earnest. If it turns out it’s not for me then so be it, at least I gave it a shot.

Feel free to start a thread documenting your EAA journey. 🙂 Interested to see how you get on.
