Welcome to the 2022 board!!

So, we are very hopeful that we will be able to hold some sort of event next year - it would be fantastic to see people face to face enjoying the hobby that we love!

We are going to pay a visit to Lucksall in the next couple of weeks to talk to them about what is possible - and to check that the site still works for us. We know there have been some changes, but not sure to what extent just yet. 

And because we are a caring team, we'll be checking that the breakfast in the café is up to standard. I know it's tough, but we're dedicated like that!!

 

Anyway, fingers crossed it is good news and we can start to make firm plans!

It's a lovely camp just hope the weather is better than the last time I was there.

I have been to a few at Lucksall, and although they might not want to, a star party in the spring is so much better than the autumn / early winter.

For the past what 3 or 4 that have been held later in the year, have either been flooded (can happen any time of course) or very foggy as everything cools down.

The occasion I went in the spring (SGL 10 I think?) it was great.

Also, the last time I went, Hereford is now casting a very white light over around 30% of the NW skies, probably due to LED.

Does the SGL star party have to be at Lucksall? Aren't there any other options available? It might be nice to make a change.

There is certainly a glow from the NE - however some of this is caused by the car park lights at Holme Lacy College. I am going to Lucksall in 2 weeks and will drive past the College and will see how bad it is. I only live 10 minutes from Lucksall so I could easily go into the College and have a chat.

There is also Holme Lacy House one of Warners premier hotels but I don't think this is causing a problem - again I could go in and have a look.

Be fantastic to meet up again. I don't mind where it is or even the odd dodgy night, it'll just be nice to see some faces again!

Yay, be nice to get out, 

a Spring party would be nice, always more chance of clear skies in spring, but who knows,

Breakfasts, quiz & curry nights are good any time of year.
