  1. It may be just my copies of them! and was a few years ago I played with them for astro, but now I have the wonderful Sammy on its way to me, I cannot wait to get out with it. so much info in this thread im overwelmed and excited to receive it.
  2. thanks for the reply, I have just placed my order and hopefully the lens will be here within the week on a side note I have plenty of old lenses for my nikon and for my fuji set up but they all have their problems!! I just didnt list them here, I even have the 135 pentacon which is beautiful for portraits but horrible for astro, but I really like the focal length.
  3. Been looking at getting this lens, I have Nikon d7100 and d800, I have been using my sigma 70-200 f2.8 but i dont think its a good lens for astro or atleast my copy as I get weird shaped stars, I'm new to this AP game so still learning!! and it could be something im doing. I have star adventure 2i with above cameras, would this be a sensible buy?
  4. I'd be interested in this, just over an hour's drive for me
  5. Thanks, I shall order the star adventurer first and see how things go.
  6. Hi All, As stated in my welcome post, I am new to astrophotography, I have been a photographer for a long time, I am thinking of getting the skywatcher adventure 2i, but my question is will my tripod be sufficiant? I have carbon 3 legged thing brian which is pretty light weight but sturdy for my fullframe camera gear. should I buy a beefier tripod fro mthe get go or see how my tripod handles? I plan on using my nikon d800/d7100 with my 200mm lens thanks Ali
  7. Thanks, Will take my time, gonna be a few months yet before I have money saved for proper setup!! Was thinking of getting skywatcher adventure mount so I can atleast track and follow using exiting equipment, atleast this way I'm not diving off the deep end
  8.
