Hi from Northumberland

Due to not being able to get out for my usual hobbies, I have indulged my long time interest in the big open area above me and bought a Skywatcher Heritage 130. Luckily it was clear enough last night to sit with a big smile as I watched the moon.  I will spend time getting to know it before considering any suggested eyepiece upgrades, so far very impressed, but that’s from point of view of someone with no experience(other than the observatory at Kielder)

I've read many interesting posts on here from you experienced folk so no doubt it will be a useful site.

Welcome Timdog from Bristol - my old Dad is from Ashington (now in Edinburgh) and have family who are in Morpeth, Whitley Bay and Walkworth etc. Cracking bit of the world and fabulous dark skies nearby. The most impressive stars I have ever seen was one random night near Coldstream on the Northumbria side 😃
