This is an enormous discovery in my opinion. Would it bring forward manned missions to Mars?

Possibly more money spent on faster spacecraft engines.

It shouldnt come as a surprise that there is liquid water on Mars. Its underneath the polar ice cap............which is made of?.

frozen H2O.................water. It will be very useful if we ever get there. Extracting it shouldnt be a problem. Oil wells run deep and we can still get to the oil.

Biggest challenge will be that the cap changes in size so much each year.

What puzzles me is that although the ice cap shrinks during the seasons it keeps coming back, you would expect it to vanish quite quickly.

Its been confirmed, hasnt it?

Not as far as I know it is a single study with one instrument. The SHARAD instrument did not find it but there mybe reasons for that .

I will hold the Champaign for now.
