Just the 13mm now and you can fill that empty space

Nice thought, but, the 16 - 10 - 7 - 4 combination fits almost a x1.6 pattern and the 13 would be wasted. I might be tempted though just for the heck of it 😜

Not Ian, but have found the shorty to perform very well. No visible degradation at all with Starguiders (compared 12mm to barlowed 25mm). Will try and get a couple comparison images for you if you’d like.

Downside to it is that whilst the barlow element screws off, it’s not threaded for eyepieces and can’t be used as a 1.6x.

I'm looking forward to testing it, but given the weather we have coming across the Atlantic, it maybe a while...🙄

It looks from your signature that you're assembling or have assembled three really cool EP sets. “Minimal glass” ortho’s, high end “best of both worlds” Vixens and now “ultra wide” Nirvanas. Was that always the plan? You’ll never be short of the right tool for the job.

My first anti dew purchases. A heated dew shield for my 127 Mak, and a dew band for my Starfield 102. A dual output/single channel controller, and a book I’ve been looking at for a while.

Hello, do you have the specs for the 127 heated dew shield please. I’ve just bought a 127 Mak and a dew shield is essential so any advice would be welcome. :)

It's a plan to have the right tool for the job. The vixens are fabulous in the 12" Dob because of their correction. Orthos are great for planetary because of their crispness and detail. Nirvanas are great in the 102 for doubles as they are par focal, small and comfortable to look though.

Sounds pretty sorted to me 👍

Ordered a packet of Haribo and got a rather fetching free hat.  Must say I was surprised by the Peli case.  Seems a bit OTT.

Also came with a Hypercam 533c which probably explains the cost of the Haribo.  I just put it down to inflation.

There are several options, being heated or unheated. The Astro Essentials unheated flexible dew shield is the most reasonable. I personally went for the Lynx heated version. Picture below 👇

some new 3d printed eyecups for my 45mm Plössl eyepieces! They solve the problem of too much eye-relief. I made them the correct length for using with glasses…

Brilliant I need one for a TMB I cannot find a replacement I've had to glue it but it's not that good.

New toy!  Guranteed clouds for at least 3 months now - but this thing is GORGEOUS. (FLT-91)

Such a nicely engineered bit of kit compared to my previous SkyWatcher stuff.

Thanks FLO!

Another DPD delivery today when I thought it was Monday. A Dynamo Pro by Orion and a dew band for my finder. I want this power supply solely for dew control leaving my other one for my mount.

Looks just like mine except for the one plug, which is for US three pronged plugs.  It will easily run your dew bands.

Yes, that’s the reason I bought it to run the dew bands so that my other one can maintain the voltage to my mount.

For the price the RVO Barlow is superb

That is what Adam said at RVO and it is good to know that you rate it highly. It certainly looks and feels very well made and the views through the glass look right, although I have yet to put it in a telescope. I will eventually post photos taken using it.

NEW ADDITION TO THE HYPERION STABLE - a 31mm Aspheric.

These are nice, wide-angle EPs, and not bulky.  The Aspherics have adaptors for 1.25" diagonals (but this reduces the FOV).

The regular Hyperions are dual-fit, but generally need an adaptor for use in a 2" diagonal.  (Although they are said to be better suited to slow 'scopes, I am happy with their all-round performance.  They can be used in a modular fashion, with a variety of focal lengths, but I have never bothered with that.)

I am looking forward to comparing the new 31mm Aspheric with my 30mm/68deg Revelation Superview.

Doug.
