Not seen any scopes in this thread that will perform like my own......

On a night of decent seeing (half decent actually) i can easily detect subtle surface details on Saturns moon Mimas ; the Herschel crater being an obvious feature.

Must be the 1/200th wave 60mm Flourite optics and 1.0 Strehl thingy....

Ahhh ! another 60mm enthusiast.

Look for a Telementor, its the closest you are likely to get; and I'm confident you won't be disappointed.

+1 for a Telementor...a super performing scope for its size

Yes, I'm excited Stu! The showcase objects like M101,M51 should be dazzling!

In a 22" under dark skies (well as good as they get in the UK) they are just stunning, in a 24" with the skies you have we'll catch your socks this side of the pond when they land!!!

My dream telescope would have the ability to repel mosquitoes away from me on it's own.  :glasses1: (With some sort of mounted technological device)

I think this has been said previously, my dream would be to live in the north of the province where light pollution is very low, with my actual 8" instrument. In a situation like that, maybe I would order a nice 10" or 12" Dobson with tracking capabilities like a SW BK DOB 12", to sketch.

I feel very privilaged. At the Kielder observatory where I volunteer we have a TS optics 16" RC, a C16, an Eqinox 100 ED and a Coronado PST which I regularly get to play with. I think these would all come under the heading "dream scopes"

A lightweight rigid (see here: http://www.dreamscopes.com/pages/07/denmark-03.htm ,http://www.dreamcellularllc.com/mechanical.htm ) portable fast 32in dob, with a lightweight cellular mirror ( http://www.dreamcellularllc.com/mirrors.htm ) and CF structure, made by these guys:

More here.

Apparently they are pretty good at mirror making, and can go as fast as you'd want:  http://www.dreamcellularllc.com/news.htm

Scopes on their site are astrographs (  http://dreamscopes.com/pages/07/16inDAtube-10.htm ) but, they do say OEMs welcome, so given this is a money no object exercise, I'm sure they can be persuaded to make a custom visual dob with a truckload of money.
