Hello from Lincolnshire

Red meteor

Recommended Posts

I have been interested in astronomy since about 11 years old when I bought "I spy the Sky" with my pocket money. Soon after that I joined the Junior Astronomical Society (now the SPA) and contributed to their meteor, variable star and solar sections. I had to wait until 14 to join Liverpool AS and have been a member of Lincoln AS since moving to Lincolnshire in 1978. I am also a member of the BAA. I have never owned a large telescope and even now use an ED80 on an EQ6 mount. For the last few years I have been learning digtal imaging with a Canon 1100d and very recently purchased QHY IMG2Pro. I have been the visits organiser at the Lincoln AS observatory for many years and enjoy passing on my interest to the (mainly) young visitors there.

About 2 years ago I set up a website, www.astrospeakers.org, with webmaster Glyn. Astrospeakers is aimed primarily at making it easier for Astro Socs to find speakers for their lecture programmes. I shall shortly be posting about Astrospeakers on the Stargazers Lounge speakers section.

I am pleased to join you, long overdue.

Regards, Graham Winstanley
