Born and bred in Cape Town I'm learning to make the best that the Leicestershire skies have to offer. With an interest in deep sky objects and anything else I can see I'm hoping to expand my curiosity and knowledge through (hopefully) not too much gnashing of teeth. I have a Skywatcher 150P with the EQ3-2 mount but recently found a 2nd hand EQ5 Goto that I'm eager to put my DSLR onto for a few (very) amateur shots.

Very much looking forward to sharing, both learning and helping, with others here.

Wow, thanks all. Overwhelmed by the welcoming atmosphere and lovely to see there are thousands of others to enjoy my new hobby alongside! It's also nice to see the wide variety of fellow astronomers there are out there. 

As the saying seems to go Clear Skies!
