Hello everyone...

I'm Darren, after having a mate's Celestron Astromaster 130 sitting in my garage for over 12 months and not using it, I have decided possession is 9/10ths of the law and beginning what I think could be an exciting (and expensive - as I've already decided to buy a better t/scope.. lol) journey :)

After last night seeing the moons surface in magnificent detail .. I believe I'm hooked already .. :)

As a photographer, my 1st endevour will be to see if I can take some images of the moon and other objects soon.

Welcome Darren. Astronomy is that curiously attractive mixture of science and art, like photography, but may test your patience and your wallet! Astrophotography more so and don't buy anything before you've studied how to go about it in depth and read the recommended book (Making Every Photon Count - Steve Richards).

Welcome to SGL Darren, Glad that you have found us. This is a great place to be and there's many knowledgeable folks who will be able to answer any questions you may have.

As a mad imager myself, I look forward to seeing you around
