  12. Hi Stu,I can recommend the Lunt ,which is excellent with my 70 mmF 12.5 scope, and as said a Continumm filter makes a great addition. As ever ones budget dictates ones choise . Good luck with which you decide to go with. John.
  13. This a bit too late, but in the old days a spiders web was used and is very stable and slightly transparent .!!!!!! Not good if you hate spiders.
  14. Hi All, Here is a picture of my dual solar scopes. 100mm F10 Bresser with internal ERF and PST at rear! This gives excellent views. The other scope is a Vixen 70mm F12.5. White light using a Lunt Herschel wedge. I find this combo ideal, and all on a driven GP mount on a wheeled trolley, just open the garage door, wheel it out ,and it is ready to view. Power via a car 12volt battery on the trolley.
  15. I have used my Lunt 1-1/25" HW on a 100mm refractor for quite long sessions without any problem it just gets hot but not excessive . Just my experience ,regards,John.

  20. Hi !i have used 2inch webbing around the tube and joined with a wood broom handle. And put a small bolt with washers and nuts to tighten them to avoid slipping. Cut the webbing too long to allow for tightening . Old seat belts are useable. I hope this will give you food for thought. !!!! All the best,John.
  21. Hi Martin,This scope should be fine for use with a HERSCHEL wedge,as said before make sure it is not oil filled, otherwise it will be very good for Solar use, though there is very little action on the sun at the moment. I have a Lunt wedge which I can recommend ,though most makes work well,it is down to price All the best ,J.L.
  22. Hi I am interested in your X Cel 9mm eyepiece ,could you let me know if it is still available ? I can pay by Paypal as a gift if this is acceptable to you. Please let me know ,many thanks,John.
  23. Shane,Thanks for your reply,if you already have an ERF ,then it should be coated to give UV/ IR protection.the coating if applied, looks purplish , and is on the front facing surface. i do have 2 lenses of minus 125&98mm ,which I purchased from Surplus Shed in USA which enables one to avoid shortening your telescope tube .these fit into the front of the PST Etalon in place of the normal 200mm one. Should you wish to borrow them please let me know. A phone call may help, if you Email me your number to: john@ the-longs.co.uk I can call you this evening if convenient .John.
