I am a newbie astronomer although i have been a keen photographer for some time, although i still cant get my head around RAW formats. I caught the bug when i first took a shot of Orion with my canon 650D on a photo tripod with a 50mm super takumar lens i got off e-bay i was blown away with the result but i soon realised how much i had to learn and i do love challenges...

Welcome to SGL - if you are wanting to take up astro imaging then I'm glad that you like a challenge as it's certainly that!

Have a look in the imaging section and you'll see the images that are possible with the kit generally listed alongside it. There's one or two of us imagers about, so if you've got any questions then just shout!
