  1. Lovely image, I actually think the colours look great. There does seem to be a little "reverse" vignetting/ pale corners though.
  2. I think if you connect through the handset then it'll have to run through the Initialisation Sequence then select PC Direct. However if you can connect directly to the mount then your problem will be solved. If you have a newer model with a usb port on the head you can use a standard usb cable. If not then you will need the EQMOD cable.
  3. I'd be tempted to go one further. Add a longer horizontal pipe to off set the head so you can get comfortable on a sun lounger. A counter weight and pivoting head would help as well. Great job and very inventive use of materials.
  4. It is a joy isn't it. I was lucky that my AZ EQ6 has a USB port on the mount and I managed to get it talking direct to computer with a standard USB cable.
  5. Super image, detail is wonderful.
  6. Nice 2 for 1, looking forward for the end result.
  7. Looks ok to me, just a little dark on the halo.
  8. Hi all, thought I'd post this here. Made up a couple of brackets for my Pegasus UBP V2 so that it could be mounted crossways under the front of the scope. The Pegasus ones only mount lengthways so the cable ports are front and back.
  9. I had a bit of drift last night again, after the meridian flip and plate solve it seemed only to drift half as much. So I'm just wondering if it might be something like cone error, do you do a 3 star alignment first ? In Ekos there is a mount model function, haven't investigated it yet but it sounds like it fine tunes things.
  10. I think that has come out rather well. Maybe add to it later in the year.
  11. Couple of stunning images, well done.
  12. Have a read of this https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/561238-omegon-ap-100600-ed-first-light/
  13. Oh yes, forgot to mention elongated stars is tracking.
  14. All glass is a little different. Baader's are par focal but that just means they are really close but there is still a slight difference in focus. Autofocus steps are incredibly fine so where 100 steps might seem a lot it's only a gnats whisker.
  15. Really nice image, hint of blue in the arms looks great.
  16. I see the market opening up for mother board repairs. Wish I new more than "its blown up, find a replacement part". I have repaired a couple of ultrasonic cleaner boards but that was pretty obvious stuff and I did have circuit diagrams to help.
  17. Try KStars/Ekos, runs in Mac OS and is free. It'll handle mount controls, image capture, focussing, plate solving, poor alignment and guiding.
  18. If its a Starlight Xpress then KStars/Ekos should be able to run it.
  19. No it's the gap between. Have a look at the YT link I posted earlier, it shows the proposed network animated. Basically they will be crisscrossing our skies.
  20. Each string will be 1 hour apart so 15º and each satellite will be 5.45º
  21. Lovely, colours look really good to me.
