  1. Can go either way really by moving the pin to the other threaded hole. Some prefer single leg to north as it gives a little more room to view through the polar scope.
  2. Possibly, but I see a current use for tracking mounts that will help. That would be to mount a high power laser.😉
  3. Found this on YT. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giQ8xEWjnBs Basically it all there so that the UK/US stock exchange can communicate 30ms faster. This enables billionaires to make billions more. The upside apparently is that for $200 all those in the starving 3rd world countries can buy a flat panel satellite receiver to get the internet. The plan is for 24 strings of 66 satellites to encompass the globe which means from horizon to horizon you will see over 700 in the sky at one time. This is all just for one network, there could be another 4 or 5 in the future.
  4. Well done for such poor conditions.
  5. For galaxies you will really want to get a long focal length telescope, I would say 600mm minimum. Better with 800mm plus. You'll then be investing in a good tracking mount as well.
  6. Lovely image and a great write up.
  7. Had a look at the manual and it says there's a DCIN port. So you will need a mains to 12V power supply.
  8. Bit of confusion here, I don't have one, just linked to the thread.
  9. On my AZ EQ6 I rotate both Axis 90º to get the polar scope right way up. Does seem daft.
  10. Looks like a surface mount restore that has blown. Also don't like the look of the white residue around R38, (could be moisture) and the cracking and white smears lower left.
  11. Pegasus has landed, dovetail bar yet to come.
  12. Doh! I need to take more calibration frames for my binned subs.
  13. Should be ok for nebula and the larger seen galaxies and clusters.
  14. No idea what time is best, for me it's pot luck just looking at the sky whilst my rig is imaging. Saw a couple more bright ones from the north last night within a fraction of a second of each other.
  15. Could it be a clutch slipping?
  16. Good effort with so much lost data.
  17. For all the numpties that want faster phone connections. And greed.
