  1. Lovely images, getting the outer fans showing is a treat. The HOO is a generally more pleasing combo but compared to the SHO the centre looks a little bright and has blown out a little detail. The First SHO is a bit green on the background but the centre of the nebula shows a lot of detail. The second SHO has much better background but I really liked the green in the nebula of the other pic. As for the wide field, it's superb.
  2. Great result considering the air conditions last night.
  3. Cheers Wim, so I could have just pressed the button and gone to bed then. As it was I decided to stop my run and set up a schedule, only to find that by the time it was starting up the clouds were running in so packed up.
  4. I pressed the button............................Danger Will Smith ! Got the warning about not pressing the button while scheduler is active so I pressed the stop button. This is a bit light on documentation, sounds like it will do what I want it to do but why throw up the scheduler warning when the scheduler is not running. Maybe try pressing start, then set up your imaging runs, then go to bed and have a restless nights sleep worrying about it.
  5. If I start a run (not a schedule) and I press the play button whilst it's capturing subs, will Ekos shut down and park the mount at the allotted time ?
  6. I think with astrophotography you will always be to the left of the histogram. I think a lot depends on your target, what ISO you choose and what camera you have. You want to expose as long as you can without causing too much noise from your sensor and without blowing out the image. Try ISO 800 to 1600, 2min exposures, 2.5 mins and 3 mins and maybe up to 5 minutes if you can guide/track accurately enough.
  7. A good start, the more you learn the better your images will get.
  8. Stunning, lovely image and just a hint showing of the outer fans.
  9. Well done, looks good for the low altitude.
  10. Pretty good, I would get more data if you can that would strengthen the signal of the nebulosity. A little star reduction would be a benefit.
  11. Nice details showing, well done.
  12. Lovely, if only the Squid and Jellyfish were in range as well.
  13. Lovely image Carole, combining the data worked well.
  14. I would have thought there would be more showing with nearly 3 hours data.
  15. Just zoomed in on the Crescent and the detail is amazing. Excellent image.
  16. Difficult to say whether the Lum data has changed the image much, maybe just brought up the brighter areas a touch.
  17. Outsourced or design rights probably. I think I've seen SCHMIDT on other boards.
