  1. I am amazed that the first time anyone here posted a heads up, I was able to view and image it! Never seems to work out now with my 3 day work schedule! Oh yeah, 16:50, it's still omg daylight!😆
  2. Having recently seen NEO being spotted a few hours in advance of entering the atmosphere, along with very good prediction at where it would enter it, my question would be if one was seen coming two hours away, would the public be informed? Either way, one impacting a large city, or releasing mega tons of energy just above ground would be devastating. The panic would end up with the highways overwhelmed with traffic, making it possibly worse than keeping quiet an the picking up the pieces.
  3. Excellent! The image that shows no SN, then does show it is really eye opening! Just seeing the amount of visible light makes it really apparent how large of an area this would have affected!
  4. Seems to be a lot of this on FB market place around me.
  5. I only have a few books. Just started collecting them recently. But my favorite is this one. It's very limited edition, possibly only two or three copies. My daughter surprised me with a little album she had made.
  6. I read on an internet link that with this SN, they believe ANY type of life would have definitely ended within 10ly. If I did my math correctly, that's roughly 60 trillion miles. Hard for my meager mind to comprehend, but it discussed atmospheres being stripped away, surfaces cooked. Maybe the figure of 160 ly is taking in account of many things other than the big boom itself. But this fusion bomb wouldn't have fit in the belly of a B29. All I keep thinking is, The old Mr. Spock with the new James T. Kirk. "A star went supernova and threatened to destroy the Galaxy!"
  7. Hey, he has a good point. I've always said a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work! I can't comment as far as imaging. But maybe I look up into the sky, just to try and know whats out there.
  8. What are your temps running. Its been sunny in Florida lately, yesterday in the nearest larger town it was 95°f with a heat index of 115°. Our afternoon rains havent got going full force yet to cool us off.
  9. Those are great photos! I was talking with SWMBO just yesterday about how Pluto was discovered using film. It's amazing what astronomers accomplished using the equipment they had to use.
  10. Fantastic! Sounds like your grandson is as special to you as mine are to me! How old is Patrick?
  11. 1000 galaxies, amazing. Well done! I'm someone who really wants to believe there is someone out there looking back at us. Just imagine all the stories that could be told in those galaxies, far, far, away!
  12. Thank you sir for the incredible image and excellent information!
  13. Only thing I can say is thank you, everyone, for all the work that makes this forum work!
  14. As a taxpayer, I might have big, deep pockets. But, they are always almost empty! Time to discuss what the word "budget" really means!
  15. So, its big news that NASA's SLS is unbelievably over budget! At least 6 billion dollars! And, Boeings push to compete with SpaceX to put men into space has been put on hold while they review "problems", leaving SpaceX the only magic bus to the ISS! Time for some serious talks with both NASA and the suppliers!
  16. I was blown away by the information in the "Duplex"!
  17. Excellent! If the dark sunspots are cooler areas, are the light areas you see in the images hotter?
  18. Thanks! Start 4 days off tomorrow so maybe the cloud Gods will let me view it!
  19. If that is your scribbles, i cant wait to see you get serious! Awesome!
  20. Very nice. Sunday the large group was just coming around the limb.
  21. Just what i saw from Florida, Just a much better image than mine! 👍
