  1. Its was great fun, i message and friend who is not particularly a keen astronomer. But he has a small scope and has been watching the Moons recently a fair bit, he was amazed that you could percieve the motion in real time, not heard back yet.
  2. I was going to image it with the C9.25, but i thought it would be nice just to watch for once. I could see it around 9.40.30, quite faint but quickly brighteneing, by 9.50 twinkling quite brightly. Thanks for the heads up.
  3. Lots to look at again this morning in all wavelengths, the spots in white are very interesting. Should get at least one more day at them.
  4. Lovely set of images, great to see so much action again.
  5. Very nice, i spent the morning watching that exact Prominence as well.
  6. Thanks for the heads up, looking like another glorious night tonight.
  7. Looks a beauty, would love to have seen it
  8. The expressions every day is school day" and "you never stop learning" seem particularly apt for me today. I have been struggling to stack a full H/A Sloar disc from yesterday. I don't know why, but i wondered whether you could change the size of the "Image Stabilization Anchor" before analysing in AutoStakkert 3 . A quick google and YES you can. Simply press CTRL as you would to move its position, but instead of clicking your image with the mouse, press any number between 1 & 9. 1 is the smallest size box, 9 the biggest. I have never thought of it before, might useful for Lunar stacking maybe. Not really helped with my issue, but hopefully it will be of some use to somebody in the future.
  9. A fine looking image, lots to see there.
  10. Very nice looking image, great to see plenty of activity again.
  11. I was pretty pleased with Victor, especially for 1200mm aperture. i am very tempted to make a mask for the C9.25 SCT i own.
  12. Nicely imaged Reggie, really tough targets are the outer ice giants.
  13. Lovely looking image, what a disappointment after such a decent first image.
  14. Sounds like typical astro to me 🙂 chaos interrupted by odd moments of calm, some decent images though to end with. Lovely to finally get some Sun again though
  15. Lovely to finally feel mobile enough to get the scopes out yesterday morning. The weather was the best its been for ages, plus lots of Solar activity around as well. All white light images were with Evostar 120mm, Asi290mm, close ups using X2 Barlow as well. The close up was way over-sampled, hence the very poor quality. More of an experiment than serious imaging attempt 🙂
  16. The Sun is looking very active at the moment, at least 10 spots spread over 4 different A/R'S, plenty happening in H/A as well. Images from https://www.spaceweather.com/ and https://gong.nso.edu/ .
  17. Very tricky down at that elevation Neil, i thought about stting up last night. I left it a bit late, with my ankle/boot i did not want to risk dropping something. I might give it a go tonight and set up before dark.
