  1. WOW, makes you wonder how they were using it. It does look a beast of scope, it might make a very good Solar white light imaging scope 🙂
  2. I think it is probably some sort of artefact. I don't think the view in the images on the right represents the view currently on offer from Earth. below is an image i captured from 2016, it shows some of the Moons and some subtle lightening at the Polar region. The presence of the Moons helps in determining the orientation when captured, which also helps to decide if you have captured anything other than the disc. The smaller image is from WimJupos, showing the view on the 8th. Your image to me does look at little out of shape maybe, the focus was off a little? In my experience Uranus is a very tough target to get anything other than a disc, even my image below i wasn't 100% certain it was the Polar region.
  3. A fine set of captures, still not a very easy target despite the mount of images online these days.
  4. I love the solitude that comes with Astronomy, i am surrounded by people all day so i enjoy the break 🙂 I also do not know anybody else in my town that is a regular astronomer. That is the great thing about SGL, i have met loads of like minded people on here who i would never know about 🙂
  5. Lovely sharp captures there, especially considering the conditions. How long have you been using Affinity for your mosaics?
  6. Looking good Neil, another new region rotated around today as well
  7. Nicely done Nigella, so much activity at the moment. Good to see the return of the Filaments and Proms.
  8. A nice capture, good to get anything at the moment
  9. Congratulations on capturing Uranus. I guess it would be, not that it matters greatly. Most Uranus images seem to be false colour due to them being captured with mono cameras and IR pass filters. Imagers tend to be trying to show the lighter Polar region and maybe the Moons, so colour is a secondary consideration and added for aesthetic effect.
  10. Lovely looking AR there, some decent detail visible
  11. Excellent set of images.
  12. Very nicely captured, some decent details visible there
  13. Somewhat slightly improved by dinnertime for the H/A images. 12 pane mosaic stitched ok i guess, but might have to revisit this as well. Some lovely proms still visible, but only had time for aa short run on them. Lunt 50th, Dmk21au618
  14. Beautiful blue skies yesterday, it looked like the perfect day for Solar imaging. Unfortunately the seeing conditions were pretty, certainly where i was anyway. The white light images are lacking any real decent details, particularly the close up. The Penumbra is very disappointing, but you can work with conditions you have Evostar 120mm, Asi174mm. Pleased the "drift method" full disc stacked again.
  15. Nice capture Peter, the disc clearly visible. Pretty tough target to get much else though.
